The Collective Sound

is a non-profit organization that provides youth, age 12-18, with an authentic musical experience in writing, recording and performing through the vehicles of rock, electronic and popular music as part of its Summer Music Academy and Creative Labs After School Programs.

Registration for the 2008 Summer Music Academy at CSU Chico is happening NOW! Join us to write, record, and perform at the Element Youth Movement CoOp Tour 2008. Registration ends July 1st.

Session 1: $3,500 July 6- July 25

with CSU Chico's Premiere California Summer Music Camp

A 3-week Summer Rock & Electronic Music Camp. Join young artists from around the world to write and record an original song, shoot an epk and music video, and open for headliners as part of the three-stop Element Youth Movement CoOp Tour.

Element Youth Movement CoOp Tour

Kids participating in the TCS Summer Music Academy will be touring with this collaborative venture between music, skate, art, environmental, and cultural organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of America. The goal of the YMC Tour is to create awareness as it relates to youth health, cultural, social and environmental issues.

 

Creative Labs After School Programs

Designed as a supplement to traditional music programs and private instruction, TCS Creative Labs give youth a supervised space for creative collaboration in todays contemporary music genre. Utilizing guitar, bass, drums, voice, keyboard, samplers and electronic music, students will work through the creative process to write, record, and ultimately perform live for other students and headlining acts.  Students also use todays technologies to create marketing materials, EPK's, and music videos to be published on the Internet...staying after school has a whole new meaning...
