Creating Opportunity...
There is an indisputable truth in the idea that succedding in today's music industry is a grueling and daunting task. Many young artists and musicians ho ant to turn their talent and hard work into careers or even further develop their personal skills are not given ample opportunity to do so. Becaue of the high costs of breaking into the industry paired with a lack of music education on any contemporay level many youth become discouraged and disheartened. The Collective Sound aims to provide those ages 12 to 18 with tools and guidance needed to articulate and express themselves amidst today's turbulent music industry.
Through the means of guitar, bass, drums, vocals, keyboard, and electronic music equipment TCS Creative Labs intends to suppliment and enrich private instruction with a guided enviroment for creative collaboration; ultimately culminating in live, end of the semester concert. Equiped with back line gear, PA systems, recording equipement, video and digital cameras, and computers, Creative Labs enables young artists to exercise their creativity in writing, recording, and preparing their own original music with other students and in support of headlining bands.

TCS “Creative Labs” operate as a non-profit, much like a YMCA or Boys & Girls Club, to the benefit of a wide range of socioeconomic groups as a result of sponsorship and fundraising. The relationships of Creative Labs to TCS Summer Music Academy and the Element Youth Movement CoOp Tour further offset the installation costs. Student fees will also help support the program.
